“The universe is asymmetric and I am persuaded that life, as it is known to us, is a direct result of the asymmetry of the universe or of its indirect consequences”

–Louis Pasteur

Gender Harmony is a concept and movement that is one of the goals of the SHAMIM movement.

Through the generations, we have learned that “equality” – the simple balance of men and women in society without accounting for the nuances and unique traits of each – is a noble cause. This idea has been widely accepted and launched in various places, from gender-neutral bathrooms to reality television programs chronicling gender transformations.

Along with the concept of gender equality came the need for women’s empowerment. We have seen an international attempt to empower women, which has yielded only marginal results. Our leaders spend an enormous amount of resources to strengthen women and educate them on how to succeed in today’s world by going head-to-head with men. Men, in turn, have been left confused about their identity, roles, rights, and duties.

“Once a woman is made man’s superior, he becomes her equal.”

-R. B.

Harmony, rather than equality, cannot be contrived; it comes out of certain circumstances. By taking steps toward gender harmony, we can create a new synergy between men and women, which will lead to peace, efficiency, and satisfaction.

In lieu of equality, we seek gender harmony so that men and women can complement each other rather than conflicting and competing for power. The solutions that point to gender harmony are provided in theological scriptures, and we use science to provide tangible proof and support for the veracity of these mystical teachings.
